This Week In Titan Sports
March 25 - March 31
The golf team got off to its best start in several years with three early wins. As important as the wins were the team scores. In each of the teams three starts the Titans posted team totals under 230, with their best 219 total coming in their only loss to Lutheran St. Charles.
Junior Max Kelly and Sophomore Steven Leonard have been at the top of the scoring list in each of the three matches. Leonard opened his season as he did a year ago with a match medalist performance against Kennedy – 41. Kelly matched that total in the Lutheran St. Charles match. Kelly and Leonard combined to lead Trinity past St. Marys for the first time in school history.
Key to the good start this year has been the contributions of its newcomers. Freshman Kyle Fite has been perhaps the steadiest of the Titans. Sophomore Kyle Cotner has improved his scores each time out, and Freshman Jason Piper already has posted a mid 40 round early in his high school career.
